Mentoring sessions

Mentoring sessions

Mentoring sessions are individual meetings with a mentor that give the mentee access to the mentor’s resources.  In other words, during the mentoring process, the mentee can access the mentor’s professional experience and, if the parties agree, the mentor’s life experience as well. The mentee can ask for tips, advice, ideas and companionship during their process of development. The mentor uses coaching tools, and can also draw on (in addition to their own experience) various other tools that structure, stimulate and order the issues the mentee faces.

Mentoring processes may last longer than that of coaching, for their main purpose is to develop the mentee and continually expand their self-awareness based on the resources they discover and the actions and changes they make. Very short processes consisting of 1–2 sessions also occur; everything depends on the goal the mentee wants to achieve.
